Our goal here at Lyon College is to continually prioritize students and keep them at the heart of everything we do. The Office of First Year Advising is dedicated to assisting your student in exploring their major possibilities and bridging education with success. Our faculty will explain to your child why they are especially qualified to assume the duties necessary to have a positive influence both inside and outside the classroom. We are eager and committed to seeing your child have a great impact on our community.

For your student to succeed in college, you must encourage them to research new topics and show them that you are prepared to listen, discuss, and act as a sounding board. Please encourage your student to contact our office for help, because we provide a variety of programs and resources that students need to meet their academic objectives.

Students learn and explore during their time in college. They will become more focused and committed, which will inevitably have a favorable impact on their ability to grow their careers and improve student performance.
