Time Commitment
The time commitment varies throughout the semester but averages 2-6 hours a month (including meetings). All members must commit to at least one academic year of involvement, which can be renewed yearly. Moreover, it is mandatory for all the members of the board to keep their ethics training up-to-date.
Meeting Expectations
All Institutional Review Board (IRB) members are provided access to application materials 48 hours before a scheduled meeting. Please review the materials before attending the scheduled meeting. We expect all members to participate actively, by fostering insightful discussions and voting on materials when prompted. If a conflict of interest arises, please recuse yourself from voting. It is crucial to note that all materials and discussions during scheduled meetings must be kept in strict confidence.
