Lyon Adventure Education Program Outdoor Trips
LEAP trips are cooperative adventures aimed to empower and connect people through unique and exciting experiences. These experiences are meant to provide students space to grow and develop skills while having fun in the great outdoors! We offer trips for every level of experience so all students have the opportunity to take part in different adventures.

All outdoor trips are based on the "Common Adventurer" philosophy which holds that the foremost goal of any common adventure is to achieve an enjoyable and worthwhile experience while displaying the greatest respect for the natural environment.

The common adventurer, due to the varying degrees of ability of each participant, can best achieve this goal by becoming part of a "common" group effort. In the spirit of this effort all decisions are consensus group decisions. In addition to outdoor trips in the Batesville area, LEAP offers trips over extended holidays to a variety of national and international locations; this allows participants to be involved in an even wider variety of activities.

Trip Information:

Participants: All trips have a minimum and maximum participant requirement.

Pre-Trip Meetings:A pre-trip meeting will be held at 5 pm the Wednesday before each trip at the LEAP Building. Attendance is required.

Trip Forms:Participant Medical Information & Agreement must be filled out by the end of the pre-trip meeting.

Trip Fees: All prices are per person and include transportation for LEAP participants, in-camp food, group equipment, camping sites, and other miscellaneous fees.

Equipment: All group equipment and most trip-specific personal gear is included in trip pricing.

Refunds/Cancellations: LEAP reserves the right to cancel a program due to inclement weather, lack of participation, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances. In the event LEAP must cancel a program, a full trip refund will be provided. Should a participant choose to cancel before 7 full days of the trip they will receive a full refund. All cancellations within 7 full days of the trip will receive no refund.

Additional trips/activities may be added throughout the semester.
