Network Maintenance on Monday, January 3rd
On Monday, January 3rd, between 5 PM and 9 pm, IT will be completing an upgrade to the new Firewall system, which will allow us full use of our recently connected 10 GBps AREON internet connection. When this is completed, we will have 5 times more available bandwidth than we currently have.
Starting at 5:00 PM, there will be between a 1 and 2 hour outage for outbound and inbound traffic including:

Internet Access from campus (Including Gmail)

Access to campus resources from off campus (Such as MyLyon, Schoology, RDS, and VPN)

Desk telephones
During this time, access to internal systems such as the RDS system, printing, or internal file shares will be available.
After this initial window, there may be occasional blips in access while the final configuration steps are being completed. We anticipate this upgrade to be completed by 9 PM.
We will send a reminder Friday morning, as well as notification 15 minutes before the upgrade begins.
