Upcoming Maintenance
Coming up there will be several notable IT upgrades and maintenance occurring. Please see below for the details:
Wireless Network Update
Starting on Tuesday, December 27th at 8:00 AM, Apogee will be performing software updates on the wireless network equipment. During this upgrade, wireless connectivity will drop periodically as the equipment reboots. We anticipate the updates to be done by 1 PM at the latest.

New IT Staff
I'd like you to join me in welcoming two new members to our IT staff. Terry Clausen and Ryan (Marcus) Isbell will be joining the IT team as our new IT Support Analysts. New Student Forms
I am pleased to announce that the new version of the electronic student forms (Such as the Add/Drop form, Change of Address form, etc.) have been rolled out to MyLyon.
These new forms are 100% digital, can be filled out online, signed electronically, and will automatically be routed to any individual that needs to sign them (Such as a course instructor, your advisor, or the Provost).

IT has been informed by our Vendor, Ready Education, that they are experiencing intermittent services issues, which may cause the Lyon App to become ocassionally unresponsive.
They are working to resolve the issue, and should hopefully return to full operation soon.

Guest Network Change
Starting next week, beginning Wednesday 1/26/22, we will be making a change to the amount of available bandwidth on the Guest network. The Guest network will be limited to 1.5 MBps per device, which should work well for basic browsing needs.

Network Maintenance on Monday, January 3rd
On Monday, January 3rd, between 5 PM and 9 pm, IT will be completing an upgrade to the new Firewall system, which will allow us full use of our recently connected 10 GBps AREON internet connection. When this is completed, we will have 5 times more available bandwidth than we currently have.

This coming Sunday, June 6th, we will be performing maintenance on the Authentication systems for campus.
Between 10 AM and 4 PM our Single Sign On system will be unavailable while we update it to the newest version. During this time, you will be unable to authenticate to systems such as Schoology, Symplicity, Zoom, or MyLyon. Email and local computer logins will continue to work as usual.
