2025 Lyon College Faculty Art Exhibition Showcases Creativity and Innovation

The 2025 Faculty Art Exhibition at the Kresge Gallery on theLyonCollegecampus features an inspiring showcase titled “Shifting Perspectives” by thecollege’s art faculty. Open through March 21, the exhibition highlights diverse artistic viewpoints and innovative approaches to contemporary art.

There will be an artists' reception and talk on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the gallery. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, gain insight into their creative processes, and explore the inspirations behind their works. This event is free and open to the public.

Exhibiting artists include

  • Dustyn Bork, professor of art: A nationally recognized painter and printmaker, Bork’s vibrant and geometric works explore themes of architecture and urban landscapes. His art has been featured in solo exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including in South Korea, Portugal, and Belgium. He is a recipient of the Arkansas Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship.
  • James Berry, assistant professor of art:Berrybrings over a decade of experience as a sculptor, crafting dynamic ceramic artworks and installations that challenge traditional methods. Since 2009, Berry has developed innovative techniques as both an artist and studio technician, often combining conventional ceramic practices with experimental approaches.
  • Cody Norton, assistant professor of art: Norton's experimental techniques merge traditional and digital media, creating thought-provoking pieces that push the boundaries of contemporary artistic practice.
  • Maggie Gayle, assistant professor of art and theatre: Known for her interdisciplinary approach, Gayle’s works often bridge fine art and theatrical design, crafting immersive experiences that challenge conventional narratives.

The Kresge Gallery, located in the Alphin Humanities Building, 2300 Highland Rd., is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the gallery and exhibition is free.
