Lyon College has announced the appointment ofBrooklynCouch of Batesville as its new head cheer and dance team coach. Couch brings five years of cheer coaching experience and two years of game-day competition experience to the program.
In addition to her coaching background, Couch works with Varsity Spirit, where she contributes to camps, competitions and championship events across the region. She also brings five years of experience as a nurse, adding a unique perspective on student well-being and performance.
“I am very excited to join the Lyon College family,” Couch said. “I am passionate about empowering student-athletes to achieve excellence both on and off the mat. My goals for the program include improving our competitive rankings, increasing student engagement at games and building a strong, supportive team culture that reflects the spirit of Lyon College.”
Tommy Newton, vice president for enrollment services, said Couch’s blend of coaching experience, energy and commitment to student development will benefit the program and the campus community.

Couch is married to Lyon College alumnus and former Scots football player Nathan Couch and has two children, Evie and Crew.
