Lyon College students have an opportunity to complete and present undergraduate research as early as their freshman year, thanks to programs like the Humanities, Arts, Technology and Science (HATS) event, which is set for Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5-7 p.m. in the Derby Center for Science and Mathematics on the Lyon College campus in Batesville.
HATS is a first-year bookend to the Student Creative Arts and Research Forum (SCARF), a spring event where upperclassmen share their research and scholarship.
Freshmen will set up poster displays in the Derby Center and explain their topics to peers and faculty judges.
The public is invited, and refreshments will be served.
Faculty members will judge the poster presentations for organization, clarity, documentation, completeness, and delivery. First, second, and third places will be awarded.
Dr. Robert Miller, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Director of Year One Freshman Seminar, directs the HATS program.
